The UV-Light Wand is setting the new industry standard in convenient portable UV-C sterilization. This guarantees a 99.9% kill rate of bacteria & viruses including dust mites & bed bugs.

The UV-Sterilize Wand can be easily used to sanitize objects like pillows, mattresses, countertops, keyboards and toilet. There are unlimited potential uses for PURELIGHT in households, hospital, healthcare industries, and home.

HOW UV-C LIGHT WORKS
The anti-microbial properties of UV-C light [Ultraviolet light - C band] are well known to scientists and have been used since the 1930's to kill germs containing DNA and RNA [including bacteria, viruses, fungi and mould]. UV-C light is invisible to the human eye. It is at a higher frequency than UV-B light used in tanning salons. While UV-C is invisible, given sufficient intensity and exposure, it can kill most of the germs responsible for causing diseases in humans and animals. UV-C works by destroying the DNA and RNA [genetic material] of pathogens [disease causing bacteria, viruses, mould, etc.].

Ultra Violet rays (UV-C) ?

Ultra-Violet C.
This is the wavelength used in ultraviolet sterilizers which kill harmful bacteria.

This wavelength can actually damage the structures of the DNA particles. Commonly used in filters to assist in eliminating bacteria, fungus, parasites and algae.

The process is an entirely chemical-free, dry sterilization, which kills 99.9% of germs with 1600 times the sterilizing effect of the sun without the heat. It effectively removes and destroys Bacteria, Viruses, Dust Mites and their droppings, Fungal Spores, and other harmful debris found in all mattresses. The use of UVC sterilizing technology has many applications and is now in wide use in the medical field all around the world.

Items being treated do not require any wetting and so there is no requirement for drying after treatment thereby minimizing inconvenience. This contrasts with other processes such as steam cleaning that, whilst thorough, leave items damp and can degrade their Fire Retardancy (National Bed Federation).

UV Sterilization has no known deleterious effects on furnishings etc. and this could well be of particular interest to Hoteliers and Guest House/Nursing Home Proprietors when undertaking their Fire Risk asssessments. This is especially so following the coming into law on the 1st October 2006, of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order .

Our process uses very powerful electronic UVC sterilizers to exterminate Bacteria, Viruses, Fungal Spores and Dust Mites whilst vacuuming up their corpses and their droppings at the same time (see picture).

Vacuuming alone does NOT eliminate Dust Mites. We also use the Purelight UV Sterilizer wand which emits light at an intense but filtered UV-C wavelength which is highly effective in exterminating Dust Mites, bacteria and viruses. The whole process is carried out on site and is completed without any mess or fuss. There is very little noise and no dust.

The UVC spectrum that is produced at our sterilizer heads is known as SW UVC at 253.7 nm, which is also called the germicidal wavelength, and it is the wavelength that will eliminate bacteria, viruses, dust mites and fungal spores.  It does this by deactivating the DNA of the organism and prevents reproduction.

SW UVC light at 253.7 nm causes cell death in the organism and prevents the DNA from being unzipped for replication.

The UV Dose necessary to inhibit colony formation for some 87 bacteria, viruses and fungi is available in PDF format should you require it. It includes kill data for bacteria that cause Anthrax, Clostridium sp., E. Coli, Legionella sp., Leptospirosis, Mycobacterium (Tuberculosis), Salmonella sp., Shigella sp. (Dysentry), Staphylococcus sp.,

Streptococcus sp., Vibrio sp. (Cholera).

If we are sterilizing your mattresses then there is no need to remove them from their bed frames. During the process we need to be able to turn them over so that the process is applied correctly to both top and bottom and all around the four sides. The sterilizing process works equally well on new, old, clean or stained mattresses without any problems.

Bedrooms generally hold the highest populations of Dust Mites and associated allergens because this is where we spend most of our lives. The key areas to treat are the mattresses, pillows and bedroom carpets.

When we arrive at your home or premises we ask you to turn down a corner of the bed covers so that we can test a small area. If there is in fact no contamination then the test will show just that.

There is no obligation on your part to request any of our services and whether to proceed with a mattress sterilization or not is entirely up to you.

A sterilized mattress will have immediate effect on allergen reduction and help alleviate symptoms.
It is recommended to have your mattresses sterilized twice per year.

Of course, it is not only mattresses and soft furnishings that can require sterilization. There are a host of other objects that you may wish to treat such as: sink and washing up areas; eating areas and surfaces; toilets and bathrooms; bath mats;  shoes; washing baskets; childrens' toys; baby changing areas; car seats and carpets.

House Dust Mite Droppings

It is the powerful enzymes in mite droppings, which are the main cause of allergic reaction in sensitised people. With an abundance of food, a single Dust Mite can produce up to 20 allergen rich droppings per day. Considering the likely numbers of Dust Mites living in your immediate environment, this means that you are probably living in close proximity to a significant quantity of allergenic material.

Dust Mite droppings greatly enlarged

Dust Mites are approximately 0.3mm in length and so both they, and their droppings, can become air born easily.  In still air they can remain suspended for up to 20 minutes. This means that they can travel from room to room and, can be inhaled making contact with the mucus membranes in our noses and eyes, or simply stay on the skin. The droppings are water-soluble and dissolve on moist surfaces, discharging their enzymes onto the delicate tissues and causing a reaction by eating into these tissues.

Allergic rhinitis is a reaction to tiny particles in the air called allergens. Common allergens include tree and grass pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and mould spores. The symptoms of allergic rhinitis include sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, and itchy and watery eyes.

Adult Dust Mite and juveniles

When symptoms of allergies occur only during certain times of the year, they are referred to as seasonal allergies or hay fever. Seasonal allergies are common in the spring, summer, and fall when there is the most pollen in the air.

Eczema, or dermatitis as it is sometimes called, is a group of skin conditions that can affect all age groups. In the United Kingdom, up to one fifth of all children of school age have eczema, along with about one in twelve of the adult population. The severity of the disease can vary. In mild forms the skin is dry, hot and itchy, whilst in more severe forms the skin can become broken, raw and bleeding. Although it can sometimes look unpleasant, eczema is not contagious.

People who have atopic eczema may be affected by allergens in the droppings of the house dust mite. Atopic eczema is the commonest form of eczema and is closely linked with asthma and hay fever. It can affect both children and adults, usually running in families. One of the most common symptoms of atopic eczema is its itchiness (or pruritis), which can be almost unbearable. Other symptoms include overall dryness of the skin, redness and inflammation. Constant scratching can also cause the skin to split, leaving it prone to infection. In infected eczema the skin may crack and weep (atopic eczema).

Mould Allergy
Exposure to mould is widespread and non-seasonal, as moulds grow everywhere; both indoors, such as on window frames and rotting food, and outdoors, with mould on rotting leaves and fungi. Moulds release thousands of microscopic spores into the atmosphere, these spores end up in house dust where they grow. Dust from mould-contaminated houses can cause allergy symptoms if a mould-sensitive person inhales it. Several well-known conditions, such as Farmer's lung and Sauna Taker's lung, are caused by mould allergy.
Moulds favour damp musty conditions, such as kitchens and bathrooms, window frames, under wallpaper, on the soil of houseplants, piles of rotting leaves, grass cuttings and compost heaps. Moulds spread by producing spores that can become airborne.

1. Single Wavelength
Our filter blocks the other hazardous wavelengths and
only emits the light wavelength 253.7nm, which has
    strongest sterilizing effect.

2. No Ozone generation
Our filter blocks the wavelength200nm which generates
Ozone, It destroys human's lung cell.

3. Blocking visible light

Dust mites stay at bed surface until death because the
filter blocks the visible lights making dust mites moving in.

4. Focusing on target
Our filter makes the light focus only on target, which     strengthens sterilization effect and blocks light spread
    to human.
